I Hadn't Thought

Maggie Fay

I hadn't thought
I was still afraid
Until
I woke up one morning
Only to find
I had left my door
Unlocked.

I hadn't thought
I was still afraid
Until
He went abroad
And yet I still
Saw his face
In every crowd.

I hadn't thought
I was still afraid
Until
You came into
My life
And
I loved you.
