Examine why you're asking her out.
Is it because she is cool? Are you looking for an "in"
to her clique?
Be careful because sometimes we are
influenced by the videos we watch such as "She's All That"
or the 80's classic, "Can't Buy Me Love". Two films
that illustrate the notion of "clique crossover".
Forgive me for ruining the endings,
but both films end out happily enough for all those concerned.
Unfortunately reality isn't as kind. It is difficult to overlook
the fact that
high school is frequently a time of division between social classes
and it is not often that the classes mix.
This is not to say it can't happen.
What should you do? Drop the label. By seeing her as "cool"
you're labeling her and in turn giving her license to do the same
to you. Drop the label and see her for what she is
a girl
with qualities that you happen to find attractive. Ask yourself
if you're interested in the label or the girl. If it is indeed
the latter and you are sincere, then certainly approach her and
flatter her with your honesty. She'll either be receptive or turn
you down, but that is true of any girl regardless of whether they
are "cool" or otherwise. At the very least you will
feel better knowing that you gave it a shot.
Good Luck!
