Who We Are Now

There is no barer part of me
then this,
alone and constant
late at night,
This is me.
There may be a sparkle in my eye
but who's to see?
I am alone
just me...
Somewhere in-between breakfast and putting the kids to bed
the day gets lost
in hurry
straight away-
there is no time to contemplate.
So only late at night-
My time-
You'd find me here
if you would only look.
The tension gone...
body relaxed
But like the age old question of a tree falling in the forest,
so too
would this still be me
If I were with you?
